JUDr. David Kuboň

Prior to establishing KLB Legal, David led the international internal team of lawyers and compliance officers of WOOD & Company group, the largest investment bank in Central and Eastern Europe. For a five-year period, he was the head of the legal department in Patria Finance group, member of KBC Group. He has worked for major Czech and international law firms, including Wolf Theiss.

David is a leading expert in the area of capital markets, asset management and financing transactions. During his twenty years of practice, he has participated in many unique transactions, including some of the Czech largest issues of shares admitted to trading on the Prague and Warsaw Stock Exchange (IPOs), issue of corporate bonds and warrants, establishment of one of the first SICAV funds in the Czech Republic, trade finance on exotic foreign markets or financing complex real estate projects through fund structures.

He has implemented European directives in the area of capital market regulation and compliance. As a generally recognized practitioner he has contributed to the development of the largest investment bank in Central and Easter Europe (www.wood.cz), as well as a leading retail broker in the Czech Republic (www.patria-direct.cz). He is a co-founder of portu.cz, a revolutionary online platform for asset management.

When working for Czech and foreign clients he has gained extensive experience in settlement of disputes including as a counsel in legal proceedings. David currently represents injured vehicle-owners of Volkswagen company in the legal dispute in relation to the “Dieselgate affair”. David also represents squeezed-out shareholders of the companies CETIN and Unipetrol in legal dispute for claims over CZK 1 billion.
